Exploring the Happy Society.
There is a difference between being afraid of other cultures/religions, and disagreeing with them.
There is also a difference between an irrational fear of other cultures, and a rational and justified concern with aspects of foreign cultures, and of those aspects being imported into our own.
Let's all hold hands and sing Kumbaya while we're at it.
Interesting that Kumbaya always comes up when any form of tolerance or refusal to be part of the hysterics come up. You demonstrate exactly why people need to see this poster. Too bad it's lost on you.
Note: Al Haug did not create the image; he found it in Andrew Leonard's Salon blog Sept. 22:http://bit.ly/bPDVkuAl created a larger, high-resolution version of the image and made it available athttp://bit.ly/cSrLCF
Thank you on the source. And Andrew Leonard couldn't find who created it, either. Folk art in the digital age. Good poster, though.
On the issue of whether we should fear increasing Islamic influence in the West, I would recommend the September 20, 2010 entry in Mark Steyn’s Blog (Steynonline.com) entitled "Mollifying Muslims, and Muslifying Mollies". Andrew Bostom’s September 23, 2010 article on PagamasMedia.com entitled "Mainstream Islam Rejects Freedom of Conscience" is very well sourced and helpful in understanding how “moderate” Muslims think, at least on the subject of religious liberty. It’s not the tactics, it’s the ideology. That is, even if 95% of Americans voted to incorporate certain aspects of Sharia in American law and adopt legal penalties for converting to Christianity from Islam, or for “defamation of religion” (as there are in virtually every Muslim nation and even, to some degree with respect to the latter, in Canada and Europe), those laws would still be unjust and contrary to natural law and to our culture and traditions. The First Amendment is written, of course, from the point of view of the State. The Book of Order of the PCUSA has a very good discussion of religious liberty from the perspective of the Church. It states, in small part, “[W]e consider the rights of private judgment in all matters that respect religion, as universal and unalienable: We do not even wish to see any religious constitution aided by the civil power . . .” I would commend the reading of the entire section (G-1.0300 – 308) but raise the question as to whether the rights incorporated in the First Amendment ought to be limited to the religious practices of those Americans who first accept this basic principle.
Interesting how the left cry intolerance when people disagree with them, Zig. I am sorry Kumbaya is lost on you.
Jesus is Lord, Uncle Sam is not.
Do you think Jesus disagrees with Uncle Sam on this one? I don't.
After giving up on figuring it out I have (finally) been informed by Dennis Nyhagen that he designed and authored the original graphic and slogans for The Stephanie Miller Show way back 1n 2004. All I basically did was make it more legible, slightly change the wording and get it big enough to print out after several people on Salon.com expressed interest in having a copy of the tiny version they posted. So you can start calling it Dennis Nyhagen's poster and stop calling it mine.
Thank you - I am always happy to give proper credit.
Fear mongering, problem is the international bankers and their cohorts. Who cares how Syria or Iran handles their country? Fact, USA has enough nuclear power to wipe out the planet. We neither need to bother or entangle with other countries. It might be helpful to honestly trade with them but control freaks what would they do? The US government and elite fear the plebs more than anything. Especially if they catch wind of what they are up to.False flags or agent provocateurs are passe. Any more wars will put the political class and their cohorts in danger. All people really care about is their lives and can they earn enough to survive with a little spare time and no fear of an uncertain future. When the political class ignorantly or purposely takes it all they tempt the loosing of their heads. And if history is any clue, the Praetorian Guard will do the dirty work. The French maybe an exemption,So fear not, all die but few really live.Only wimps torture, bullies intimidate and tyrants preemptively strike.I live, as an American and will not take a preemptive strike, live in fear or restrain MY speech!
The Learned Elders of Zion is a must read for every American.
From the time I was in my 20s I spent 30 years of my life in a law library, elevated myself to being able to help others as a paralegal, and walked on some toes in the process that brought indictments against me. After 3 indictments and two trials, I was acquitted, but lost everything I had in the process of making a wrong into a right. There is a lot of LAME spineless Americuns that have no clue what it takes to serve others and their country. God help you all out of this hell, good night, and good luck.
