And I know of other cases where the families involved are all consenting adluts who suport their families etc, and who dont go down the cult supress females underage sex marrage route. And no I am not a polyimist But I can see no reason for it to be illegal if all the adults are consenting and they dont do things like child sex underage marrige welfare frud etc nor do I belive that all such familes do take part in those things.blankhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09659812930703817459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-59305411161979084242009-07-23T16:43:52.022-04:002009-07-23T16:43:52.022-04:00There is no comparisson between the gay and lesbia...There is no comparisson between the gay and lesbian lifestyle and polygamous cults. They couldn't be more opposite. Polygamy is an abhorrent issue for the heterosexually challenged who. All it is, is an overkill of heterosexuality, exaggerated. These men are sick and deranged pedophiles and the women are controlled slaves. They are living in far gone past. We don't do things this way in America. It doesn't work. Welfare fraud has nothing to do with judging these wacko's on morality. These men would love for the government to fund their sexually deviated and deranged lifestyles and as sick as this world is, it's not that unusual for them to request it. They should "live in sin" as the filthy sinners they are. They are pigs who could only be lucky enough to kiss a gay persons feet.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-28008542556017341292009-07-07T23:29:43.606-04:002009-07-07T23:29:43.606-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-75699327213827288522008-04-17T18:09:00.000-04:002008-04-17T18:09:00.000-04:00We have laws in place that make it a criminal act ...We have laws in place that make it a criminal act to hold people against their will, to have sex with minors, to defraud the social security system, etc, etc.

Let's stop making more criminals by adding another layer of prosecution that takes law abiding citizens and turns them into evil criminals simply because they choose to live a lifestyle different than what our culture considers 'normal'. Shall we not make laws against homosexuality because it leads to aids and wanton behavior? Shall we outlaw alcoholic beverages because they lead to reduced inhibitions and therefore violence and irresponsible behavior? Let's outlaw tobacco while we're at it! That puts an unnecessary burden on society!

Please, let's stop trying to legislate morality. Let's stop creating more bureaucracy and creating more work for our overburdened criminal justice system and allow it to focus on the real criminals in our society today.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01246514031169281445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-1134620520889690912005-12-14T23:22:00.000-05:002005-12-14T23:22:00.000-05:00Anthropology has come to realize that the Other do...Anthropology has come to realize that the Other does not stay comfortably Over There.Gruntledhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14377809238377382438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-1134617953740712212005-12-14T22:39:00.000-05:002005-12-14T22:39:00.000-05:00This brings back memories of my courses in anthrop...This brings back memories of my courses in anthropology in the early 70s. We spent a bit of time on kinship systems, and studied polygamy in its various manifestations.

We did not, however, discuss social ramifications of polygamy. I suppose it never occurred to the textbook writers or professors that there could be negative consequences.

Thanks for providing some food for thought.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05458269118174673968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-1134582603279199282005-12-14T12:50:00.000-05:002005-12-14T12:50:00.000-05:00Scary case -- further proving the point.Scary case -- further proving the point.Gruntledhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14377809238377382438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-1134577989411865392005-12-14T11:33:00.000-05:002005-12-14T11:33:00.000-05:00FYI, this related article appeared in the New York...FYI, this related article appeared in the New York Times today regarding polygamy: http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/national/AP-Prosecuting-Polygamy.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
