For that extra cost we get the extra benefit of universal health care. But in the out years, as the CBO itself says, universal health care will reduce the cost of medical care, which is a huge burden on the whole population.Gruntledhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14864860607925412103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-75909412376764602392011-11-23T23:37:13.175-05:002011-11-23T23:37:13.175-05:00You might want to review Obama's record of spe...You might want to review Obama's record of spending. They knew that the Bush tax cuts would run up the deficit and how politically difficult/unpopular it would be to let them expire, which leaves huge cuts to entitlement programs as the only option to balance the books.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-38119993929799772582011-11-23T10:19:51.491-05:002011-11-23T10:19:51.491-05:00I would be happy to have competent government with...I would be happy to have competent government without so many thrills, thank you. :-)Gruntledhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14864860607925412103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-5458878141613636912011-11-23T10:07:44.805-05:002011-11-23T10:07:44.805-05:00The thrill is gone! The thrill is gone!chris matthewsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16201378.post-54648462123617820722011-11-23T07:56:19.270-05:002011-11-23T07:56:19.270-05:00The president already said the top-end Bush tax cu...The president already said the top-end Bush tax cuts will expire. It's good to let the Bush tax cuts expire, but that barely dents the long term debt problems that come from the growth of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid over the next few generations. Taxes need to go up more, phased in over time, defense spending needs to be cut even more AND entitlement programs need to have their cost growth trajectory changed. This is just the tip of the iceburg.

Solomon Kleinsmith
Rise of the CenterSolomon Kleinsmithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14331941231942740033noreply@blogger.com
